STEVENS PASS UPDATE (3/28/24)

Hello everyone,

Our snowpack is holding up well on the front side and we are on track for another great weekend of spring conditions. Come up to ski or ride crisp and smooth groomers in the morning or spring-like conditions in the afternoon. And it looks like you’ll once again need your Hollywood shades and sunblock with bluebird days in the forecast next week.

While this last storm provided us with some new snow at the Pass and at our higher elevations, it also brought rain to the bottom of the backside. Mill Valley is at a lower elevation compared to the front side base area, which poses grooming challenges as snow coverage gets thinner into spring. As we roll into the final stretch of the season, it’s essential to stay mindful of changing conditions on the hill and to heed any signage posted by Patrol.

We were able to reopen all of our terrain off 7th Heaven and the Double Diamond/Southern Cross chairs on Thursday after temperatures dropped, and we received some new snow. Closure of this terrain was necessary due to concerns about the potential for wet avalanches. Please be aware that as temperatures are forecasted to increase, we may encounter similar conditions that could require temporary closures again.

We are closing out International Women’s Month with a Women’s Day event this Saturday, and don’t miss the SPAC Small Fry race, happening both Saturday and Sunday on Showcase. Also, please note that Lot A will be the only carpool lot starting this weekend.

And the next time you’re here, give one of team members a big high five for their efforts this season.

See you on the hill,

Vince
