Let’s Talk Snow!
Unless you’ve been ignoring the early flakes—or still pedaling around the desert—you’ve probably seen the La Niña forecasts making their way through the news. In short, La Niña typically brings more precipitation and lower temperatures to the Pacific Northwest. Along with those forecasts, early models are pointing toward the potential for an early start to the snow season, and with the recent shift in weather patterns, they might be right.
As Ellen eloquently shared in her recent update, it’s been a busy and productive summer here at Stevens Pass. The crew worked hard to enhance the on-mountain experience—from lift and trail improvements to behind-the-scenes infrastructure projects—and the energy around the mountain reflects it. The vibe among our employees is that a ton of meaningful work got done this summer, and guests are going to notice. I couldn’t be prouder of the team’s dedication and attention to improving the skiing and riding experience.

Behind the scenes, the preparation continues. Managers are in full-on hiring, staffing, and training mode, gearing up for the season ahead. We’re seeing a great mix of returning team members and new faces excited to be part of the Stevens Pass community.
The events calendar is packed with new and returning favorites like SPAC races & Friday Night Lights, Dew After Dark College Nights, Women in Powder Women’s Weekend, and of course, the always-entertaining Pond Skim to wrap up the season at Spring Fest. Check out the event page on our website for the full list of winter events.
We’re fired up for winter, and I hope you are too. Snow is coming, and the mountain is ready.
See you on the slopes,
John, Dir. Mtn Ops
