Morning! My name is John Meriwether, and I am the Director of Mountain Operations at Stevens Pass. Some of you may recognize my name from 30-plus years of working at Stevens Pass. I accepted this new role in January 2025, and I am excited to help lead Stevens Pass forward.

Let’s talk BIKE PARK! I was part of the original team that proposed, designed, and built the bike park back in 2011.  The downhill bike (DH) industry has come a long way since then. Trails have evolved, bike geometry has changed, and new themes have emerged.

Thanks to our awesome trail crew, we are pushing hard to have the “new trail” open by early August. We shared a behind-the-scenes clip last week of the work being done. If you missed it, have a look here. Next in the line-up will be the addition of skills features such as skinny’s; wall rides and dirt features spread throughout the trails and base area. We also hope to have some black tech sections added to the mix as well.

There is renewed excitement for the future of the Stevens Pass Bike Park. I’ll keep you posted on all the work that is happening up at the Pass and look forward to getting your feedback in person while riding the park.  You’ll see me around – so please say hello!

See you on the trails!

John
