Stevens Pass Gears Up for Winter After a Summer of Upgrades

Hello Everyone,

It’s October, and the first signs of winter have reached the Cascades. While the team at Stevens Pass is working diligently to prepare for the season ahead, I want to take a moment to reflect on this past summer. There is so much to celebrate – from improvements within the bike park (Jörmungandr, new features on Luvin’ It, and the expanded skills park) to guided hikes (thank you, Helly Hansen!), a disc golf tournament, and the return of the NW Cup Finals. It was a great summer to recreate at Stevens Pass – thank you to our entire team and everyone who came to join us at the mountain.

Our mission in summer is twofold – to create memorable summer experiences for our guests and community, and to maintain and improve our winter offerings and operations. Our maintenance teams spent the summer preparing our facilities, lifts, and snowcats for winter, and our summer trail crew made major strides in refreshing glade skiing on the front and backside of the mountain. The team also orchestrated improvements to the ski school learning area and enhanced main arteries on the backside that should help us get – and stay – open in Mill Valley. I think you’re going to notice what our teams have been up to all summer – and we can’t wait to share it with you.

This summer reinforced for me the importance of renewal – keeping our summer and winter trails fresh, adding variety, improving fun events, and ensuring there is always something to look forward to at Stevens Pass. Planning for next summer is already underway, and of course – stay tuned for more updates about what to expect and enjoy this season. We’re counting down the days – bring on winter!

Happy Fall,
Ellen
