Ops Update: Jan. 20, 2026

Hello Everyone,

It’s been a great week to kick off night skiing – and we are all happy to be back to full operations. The sunshine and cooler temperatures have made for an enjoyable Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday weekend so far. If you were at Stevens Pass, you experienced our current snow conditions firsthand: firm surfaces in the morning, softening a bit through the day. Overall, the snow surface has dried out significantly, creating some fun, sugar snow conditions in places.

In Mill Valley (the Backside), coverage is becoming thin, with some rocks, bushes, and open creeks starting to show. To help preserve the snow we have, Mill Valley will be closed Tuesday through Thursday this week. By keeping grooming equipment and skier traffic off the Backside, we hope to help preserve the snow conditions heading into next weekend.

We are seeing early indications of a potential weather pattern change late next week, with some precipitation possible over the weekend. If that materializes, it will give us a chance to start rebuilding the snowpack. Until then, Double Diamond, Southern Cross, and 7th Heaven will remain closed until conditions improve enough to safely reopen that terrain.

Thank you to everyone who came up and enjoyed the beautiful and sunny holiday week. We have our eye on this next storm cycle and look forward to seeing you soon!
