Ops Update: Feb. 1, 2026

Hello Everyone,

Thank you to everyone who came out this past week and weekend. The weather may have been drizzly, but the grit and enthusiasm you brought with you made all the difference. Thanks to the groomers’ magic work, the snow we have is still riding surprisingly well. It was especially exciting to get 7th Heaven back open, and if you’re a terrain park fan, you already know that was the place to be. Word on the street is that Stevens Pass currently has one of the best terrain parks in the PNW, and that’s all thanks to the fun-loving riders and the crew keeping it dialed.

As many of you noticed, our south‑facing terrain took the biggest hit. Mill Valley (the Backside) experienced significant snow deterioration, so that zone, including Double Diamond, will be closed until we receive more snow and temperatures remain below freezing for a few consecutive days. On the Frontside, we’ll continue to assess conditions daily with the goal of keeping as much terrain open, safe, and enjoyable as possible.

Night operations will continue this week, though please be aware that Kehr’s Chair may need to close depending on snow conditions.

The good news: it’s currently snowing at Stevens Pass, and we’re hoping to pick up some accumulation today and tomorrow. Our next meaningful chance for snow arrives around the coming weekend, so keep the positive vibes coming. Huge thanks to everyone who is keeping the energy high and the stoke alive, no matter the conditions.

See you on the mountain,
John Meriwether
