STEVENS PASS UPDATE (8/16/24)

Hello everyone,

It’s hard to believe we’re halfway through summer. While I’m looking forward to winter, I’m also focused on enjoying the seven weeks we have left to take in all things summer at Stevens Pass. This past weekend I spent most of Sunday hitting the trails, including a test run of the first section of our newest downhill bike trail. I want to express my gratitude to our trail crew for their efforts. Not only have they been maintaining and enhancing our existing trails, but they’ve also completed the first of four sections that will add a brand new trail to our Bike Park. Thank you, team!

When I arrived on Sunday morning to pick up a rental bike, our team was hard at work outfitting riders with bikes and gear in the rental shop. After some time off in July, it was great to reconnect with lift operations and patrol on Hogsback. The Pass was bustling with bikers, families, and PCT hikers, adding energy to the mountain. After several laps, my group refueled at the Bull’s Tooth before hitting the trails again. I’m excited for more days in the park this month before heading up to the WB Bike Park in September.

While we take nothing for granted, hiring for the winter season is off to a good start. Our teams are also prepping for the season– from lift line maintenance to ensuring our snowcats are primed and ready in the vehicle shop. The piano deck outside the Foggy Goggle has a fresh coat of paint, and employees are busy making improvements to indoor spaces too. Inside and out, our teams spend the entire “off-season” preparing to make this winter better than the last for employees and guests.

I hope you can join us in the latter part of summer for a day in the Bike Park or a quick break on your drive over the Pass. As a friendly reminder, a renewed Epic Pass = free rides up Hogsback for a scenic ride, a hike, or a round of disc golf. Whatever the reason – we hope to see you soon.

Happy August,

Ellen
