Hello everyone,
Our SkyTrac lift construction crew and Stevens Pass team joined forces to splice the haul rope on Kehr’s Chair yesterday. As you can see in the video, it takes a lot of people to accomplish this task. The haul rope arrives as a single long cable and the two ends need to be joined together to make a single loop. That process is called splicing. I’m happy to report that we successfully completed the splice and we’ve positioned the haul rope on the bullwheel.
Next, we’ll focus on the drive terminal connections and chair assembly. Once that’s done, we will start hanging chairs. That’s right…we are looking at the home stretch, and right on time with Mother Nature knocking on the door!
We’re making great progress and I’m excited about reaching the next milestone. More to come!
Thanks,
Vince
